That is true Ron. As an author and business man, I can relate to how you said, "The phrase “pay per click” precisely means what it says: the advertiser pays each time a visitor clicks on the ad.". I hope more people discover your blog because you really know what you're talking about. Can't wait to read more from you!

Hi Kirsty

I have heard of this happening many times, what seems to happen is when you tell your friends and family about your site, they see the ads and decide to click on them to help you out. This of course is a very big mistake simply because the same IP address is clicking the ads which in effect is what happens with Click Fraud.

Once you are banned it is very hard to get your account back, actually i think i have heard of only one person that had their account returned but they had to supply a lot of proff that it was not them clicking on the ads.

It is true that Pay Per Click Advertising or PPC is a form of Internet advertising that is used on content sites (like blogs for example) as well as search engines and other ad networks.
Click fraud imitates a legitimate user of a web browser when clicking on an advertisement for the purpose of generating a charge per click. Thus, pay per click and click fraud has something to do with each other.

I fully understand click fraud, as I have been victimized by it several times. It has gotten so bad that I no longer use Google Adwords.

Hi TC

Yes you are right some people will resort to any under handed methods to bring you down and click fraud was just one of them. I don't believe it is happening that much today with the more sophisticated tracking.

This can be a problem with mean spirited competitors trying to put you in the poor house.

I've even seem some low life marketers go as low to hire oversears workers to click their ads to get a payout...since the cost of outsourced labor was lower than the click payout!

Hi Alyssa

Sorry to hear about that... That is one of the sole reason that when creating a website that is going to be generating Adsense revenue I keep it to myself.

Your friends would have honestly thought that they were doing you a huge favor without realizing the consequence of their actions.
