Definitely true. The only downside is the security of this jobs since you are not actually working at a company there’s a big chance that you’ll get fired or worst not get paid on time.

I agree with you. My wife is a virtual assistant for almost 2 years now and she find her job very rewarding at the same time her employer is very happy with her work.

The longer I stay at home, the less qualified I feel that I would be in any job. Being unemployed does absolutely nothing for your confidence, not to mention any interviews you have to go on, only to be told that they’ve chosen someone else. You’re left thinking, “What’s wrong with me, I’m an excellent worker.” Then you rationalize. “Well, they’re just stupid,” “They probably wanted a brainless Barbie,” whatever — and, at the end of the day, you’re still at home, unemployed and broke. {Bummer|thanks for giving us this Working From Home as a Virtual Assistant : Marketing Tilt page, I needed a place to vent|get it all off my chest.

I’ve been very lucky with my Virtual Assistant job. My boss is understanding and cool. One thing I dont like about it though, is when he forwards his calls to me. Rarely, but it still happens. I feel like its not really my forte, taking calls.

My husband runs a business of his own and he’s been thinking of getting a virtual assistant and it does make a lot of sense in many ways but the thing is, sometimes you want that presence in your office, to welcome people in and be a part of the staff force. Also, it seems if you have an emergency and you need the secretary to do something outside of their duty you can still ask them if they’re there.

Yes you are right outsourcing for bigger business is very effective, however you really need to test the system out first as you will find some of these that are not suitable for your needs even though they are within your budget. Other places you can consider are the Philippines and also India when looking to employ a virtual Assistant.

This can be a great idea when outsourcing the work too. We had some support help from China I think it was over the Internet, worked great and was really cheap. Perfect for answering simple questions or sending higher up if the questions is a hard one…
